I'm looking at building a timber deck out of treated pine over my concrete slabbed Alfresco. The deck will also extend out past the slab by two metres over soil. The clearance between the slab and rear entry to the house is only 150mm. Total size...

I'll need some bearers as the deck is expanding past the concreteI wouldn't bother with bearers over the concrete I would sit the joists on packers but bolt down into the concrete....

Can someone who is knowledgeable tell if it is cheaper to go for a timber deck over concrete and then tiles laid on top.
We will try and build the deck ourselves.
So just wondering?
I really want a deck, hubby not so much... I am the one that will build...

In general, wood should never touch concrete or dirt on it at the bottom.
But those posts will have problems sooner than if not surface mounted .
In concrete, maybe just the corner posts, for stability.

That should the incline a little so it's more accurate to road running but otherwise, get outside....the concrete won't trip you (in most cases).
It! There are A LOT of people that run on sidewalks (concrete) that are overweight.
