You did not catch Herpes from this incident.
Herpes is primarily spread through skin-to-skin contact.
And public water fountains would are being way too paranoid .
If here was that easy to get, everyone would have herpes.

If the person wasn't tested for herpes, then they didn't complete their std testing. if their regular clinic doesn't offer type specific herpes igg blood testing, they should seek it out elsewhere.

How were you tested for herpes? It's possible you are not positive at all and that it was not interpreted correctly. Post the numbers here.
Were your genital bumps cultured, or were you just tested by a blood test?
The joint thing is not due to herpes...

There was no doubt in my mind that I have herpes because I saw the outbreak went to the doctor to be tested about 3 months later.

I removed your other post since it not being in this post made no sense at all.
I wouldn't bother with any more testing for herpes. you've had no symptoms of hsv1 genitally so it's not worth repeated testing for it.
just tingling and no obvious lesions...
