If it does wind up being herpes, would it most likely be HSV 1 because of the oral contact or can you get HSV 2 from oral as well?

How were you tested for herpes? It's possible you are not positive at all and that it was not interpreted correctly. Post the numbers here.
Were your genital bumps cultured, or were you just tested by a blood test?
The joint thing is not due to herpes...

In January he was tested for both herpes and HIV and they were both negative.
There was no doubt in my mind that I have herpes because I saw the outbreak went to the doctor to be tested about 3 months later.
High (positive >1.1).

The Wb is a particular type of herpes igg blood test. no reason for either of you to get it since you are both testing negative for herpes.

So in my health class a few terms ago one of the big points the teacher was making in one section was that Herpes is no big deal at all. That the stigma of herpes comes from a bunch of television ads in the 1980's that were essentially of pro-abstinence...
