It normally depends on the size of the control valve as follows:
Small size control valves, let say up, by pass normally comprises a spare on line control valve.

I am using the CV curve from control valve vendor to calculate the liquid flowrate, I found the actual flowrate is higher than predicted.
I know the CV value of control valve was generated with water, for viscosity fluid, a factor should be used for correction...

So what is the trick to spoofing the CAT ECU on the bypass valve thermo probe so it sees the correct (hot) temperture when it expects the valve open at WOT, and cold temp when the valve should be closed (part throttle and idle)? I was thinking about leaving...

When the Bypass valve is supposed to be open then its only monitoring to see if there is too much heat it is seeing what it is expecting....
On the other side of the bypass valve? If that is the one I have been told (I haven't tried it myself yet.
