I love steak but DH normally only cooks it in the summer time when we BBQ. In fact I don't think I've ever cooked a steak myself. I have 2 striploins thawing for supper and no idea what to do with them. Anyone?

We have always grilled our steaks but our grill has cooked its last meal!! Someone gave us some New York strip steaks, but I don't know how to cook them inside!

I use a meat thermometer but you can tell jutsw by pressing on it if you cook very ofte.

I leave mine in a tupperware box to get to room temperature, then put a bit of olive oil and salt on both sides.
Chuck it in a hot pan to sear both sides before putting it...

I don't have a frill, so I need a new way to cook steak. I tried on stovetop and then broiling it, but it got over cooked. Anyone have a fool proof way to cook steak inside? I currently have new York stip steak in my fridge.
