Gravy you make by taking the fat and putting it in a pan then cook that while adding flour to make it like a dough.
Low and slow are my rules when cooking roasts, or chickens for that matter.

Man, and I love a good chuck roast in the crock pot! The reason I was asking or BF's Italian beef.

We always have....
We don't always have a roast - sometimes we'll have a casserole.
Fairly traditional.
Peas have to be marrowfat on my families dinners although I do like garden peas .
Never had dauphinois or onions & peppers with any roast.
I have a 650g boneless leg of lamb that I want to roast tomorrow evening. I've never cooked lamb before, so can anyone give me an idea of cooking times and temperatures for medium rare? Thanks!

Betty we do this on our grill usually but the oven and drizzle with olive oil .
Enjoy, it's my favorite way to cook asparagus.

Ask for a little Sel de Provence on the side... .
The knuckle is burning hot (+170 degrees), so some workers do a haphazard job of cutting it .
Make sure to ask them to cut into small pieces while still hot, because the plastic knife they provide is useless .

I had mine....
If we do have a roast, it's mainly chicken or pork.
Occassionally I will do either a stew or a pie instead .
What I mean is my MumNot every Sunday.
I lived at home Sundays were 'real cooking' days rather then roast days.
