What happens when you mix two different colour coolants? eg red and blue..

You get purple invalidate it.

My 2001, 1.8t Passat had a slow leak we just got fixed. My wife topped off the coolant recently with green stuff, so now theres mostly pink and some green coolant in the system. Money is tight at the moment, and my VW guy said it would be o.k. to leave...

Not sure why this keeps popping up, it's like a $10 difference per gallon...and much different situation than 5k OCI, coolant lasts until you had a slow leak we just got fixed....

Yesterday I asked the dealer if they use distilled water to mix with the concentrated coolant. I was told that they buy it already mixed from MB.
Have any of you heard of this?

The easiest is to just get the full strength and mix it 50/50 with distilled.
It packaged both ways.

Your manufacturer recommends unless you specifically understand why it's ok to mix.

Did a quick search with no results; wondering if there is an better mix other than the 50/50 recommended for Maggie coolant (outside going with other set ups). Any real world success stories?

Is it ok to mix primochill ice coolant with the stock liquid that came with my swiftech liquid cooling kit? Just curious if it will have any long term effects?

Right then, i seem to be having a few problems with the 1.8T conversion so far, one of which is to do with the coolant.
Today while testing the alternator, i ran the car up to temperature, and the temp guage went just over the half way mark.
