I say go the the i7, use the money you're saving to go they first come out.
Ask yourself: Do I really NEED an i9?
The i7 already has enough processing power to make me a cup-intensive stuff, you don't really need an i9.

Tony Sandy Bridge is a lot better per clock than the old i7, in addition to being ASUS system til 2013, but did overclock it slightly..

Thats my question. I know the i7 930 is better for server apps and stuff and less for gaming. But what can you guys say about it? Is the i7 2600K just really better or is it a little bit of diffrents, what is hard to see/feel.

I am not sure which is better. Surely with processors you would think the 920 would be a higher version because 920 > 870.
What's bothering me is that the 870 seems to have a higher clock speed, so which one is the better processor?
