What have they done to become a corporate executive?
I think with few exceptions a key qualification is sales and marketing. Even top execs who came up the ranks as operations or legal people understand how to generate revenue. You can be great at "articulation and writing skills, people skills and networking" but if you can't sell and close deals, you're going nowhere.

Why so many people apply MIT MS Finance this year?
I think probably it's a substitute for the MBA program to some applicants because its curriculum isn't really quantitative. The applicants pool must include more prospective MBA students who want to finish the degree soon.

Does Corporate Money Lead to Political Corruption?
It doesn't change the tilt of the table all that much. However I expect a big political fuss because it challenges the parties. Politicians won't need party support and money so much if they can get unlimited amounts of it in other ways, so it will undermine party control. So I expect the two national parties will collude to change it back. If that does not occur, it will lead to changes in the ruling elites, some folks put out to pasture, others taking over.

Any Corporate Lawyers in the house?
I have always heard that corporate lawyer's work insane hours. I know this doesn't apply to every job, but a while back I was watching something on TV about two corporate lawyers that each worked 40 hours a week to fill one full time slot. Its late and I'm not sure if I am being clear, but basically instead of having one guy work a 70-80 hour week two guys worked "part time" at 40 hours a week.

Corporate free speech - how did we get here?
I've been out of the loop and away from my Mac this past week. Did the SC rule in favor of the corporations in their "corporations have full free speech rights and privileges" case?
