Did wood pellets take over for corn? Are pellets a fungible substitute for corn in a corn stove? I don’t know much about corn stoves. Just remember hearing about corn fuel from a few years ago.

I see many posts saying to use sorghum as a screen and for beding.
What is the advantages or differences for using sorghum vs corn?
Cost? Easier? Do other animals eat the sorghum? Ect?

I have been feeding cracked corn (ran thru grinder mixer no screen ) in my tmr. Should say this is 18% - 20% corn out of a harvestore silo. I like the way it mixes better than just dumping in the whole shelled corn. Just wondering if you think its worth...

Yes, I did see corn in the manure when I tried this.
You will see a lot of the whole corn go through them if not cracked.
Moisture because the shell is to rubbery for them to digest it .

Took a couple of loads of corn to the elevator yesterday. When I went in to pick up my last ticket the manager came out, and said. That was the best load of corn that he had ever bought(he is young). The test weight was 62.20 moisture 14.46 and no cracks...

I'll never pay for another jar of that expensive corn again! Its nice to be able 2 rods with my fire/anise mix and I ran 2 rods with pink commercial fire corn.
