We budget $400/month for gas.

We budget around $300 for gas Posted for gas...i buy it as needed...and dont even look at the price of it anymore...

I don't know the cost comparison between mains gas out from oil to LPG would probably cost a lot: new infrastructure etc.
Significantly more expensive than mains gas.
