Does anyone know if credit unions credit search you when you join or want to take out a loan? Will they refuse you a loan if they know you have recently been bankrupt?

It may vary from union to union aswell.

The effect on credit is similar with short sale, deed in lieu, or....
I was told that a short sale would not affect my credit score as much as a foreclosure in 2 or 3 years and it's easier to do that with a short sale.
