Sample Chatter Excerpts
How much do we depend on crude oil?
It hasn't really become a priority now in order to gain independence from oil. We're trying to gain independence from the people who produce the oil.

What could make the price of crude oil go up in the near future?
A high demand and a short supply will always drive up price. This sometimes happens during the winter as there is a need for heating oil.

Will New Zealand ever be energy self-sufficient?
NZ could become energy self sufficient by attaching pipes to all the sheep's bums' to collect millions of liters of methane to run their electricity generation plants. This could also save the planet from climate change.

What is meant by green energy?
Common sense says, green energy is produced at limited damage to the environment. However, it is a fact that, for example, Wind turbines are made out of concrete and steel and therefore damage the environment before they are built. Imagine the damage to the environment before, during and after the construction of a hydro electric dam which uses thousands of tons of concrete and steel. Electric cars damage the environment both when being built and for instance, when the batteries are no longer any use and have to be disposed of. If you analyse it, there is no such thing as a completely green energy.

Why do most countries in the middle east use so little renewable energy sources?
Most likely because against their oil, there's no profit in it. Or with things like wind or hydrogen extraction, the technology just isn't there yet to make it cost efficient.
