The lip which keeps worms in also keeps water. I use the disposable worm dishes for food and water and think they work perfect. Of using metal dishes with my reptiles.

Rice benefits from being washed in 4 or 5 changes of water first to remove parts rice to 3 parts water. Depends how you cook it.
