Well i've finally come to the conclusion nuthing short of a nuclear bomb will kill this crap. been fighting it on 2-3 rocks for probably over a month now, all that goes into my tank are spectrum pellets twice a day to feed my 8 fish.. I also dose these...

So im still battling this cyano purple bacteria. its driving me crazy i keep lights off for a long time now just turned them on its 12 noon. my phosphates were really high. getting them down now but the cyano is back in full force.

Ok i lost a fish,moved every rock shook it good and nothing but i now have cyano. i'm assuming the lost damsel is the source. now whats the best way to control it. yes,ive pulled it,siphoned it,etc....
on a second note i also added skimmer 2 days before...

Nothing changed except that I had introduced the cyano bacteria to a healthy tank.
Also, the bacteria.
With it, as i have NEVER had any! Not with, or without cyano in the tank.

When I had cyano, I got so fed up with it that I double dosed changed water triple dosed changed water triple dosed agian and again and again with chemi-clean and red slime remover. I didnt care about losing livestock I just wanted the darn cyano gone...

So i recently put in 2 rocks that were not "live" but were aquacultured? and they quickly turned a maroonish, dark red, color. And have air bubbles all over them. I believe from what i have read that this is cyano algae?

Must be cyano Cynobacteria is not an actual algae...it's a bacteria own, have good flow over it and it will go away, and yes cyano is a bacteria not an algaeIf it is Cyano , it should....

Of cyano bacteria species and they grow anywhere there is water (fresh or salty) ,CO2 and light,evenI can assure you that cyano grows equally as well in a system at 32 ppt vs.

You feed them?
Dead spots in flow can also be a reason for the cyano.
