You can either stick the long life rated oil in it (LL04?) or put the correct grade synthetic oil....
I do for a recommendation.
In the end of the day damage can cost you much more then 100 or even 150 £ .

Indeed it does have a crush washer but i've gone through 4 oil changes now at 20-25K just for good measure.
Couldn't agree more.
I used to change the oil in my 04 TL.

In the Mobil 1 line, only 0w-40 is LL01 approved .

That way, any contamination of the oil, you're changing it out.
Of comments: The engine cover doesn't need to be unbolted -- just pull it straight up, it has fittings to do it right before an oil change.
