I'm working on a setup with two datacenters linked by a MAN (bridged) and everything is doubled between them, in fail-over mode with RedHat Cluster, DRBD and that kinf of things.
I have one DNS server for each location, but it turns out that having both...

Hi!
Something odd happened to our cluster setup.
I updated some server and therefor thought I might "reset" the cluster aswell (web server + standalone)
I removed the DNS ONLY but WHM still see the DNS ONLY in 'DNS Path diagram'

CentOS 6.2 Where can I find the MySQL data about the cluster? Seems it still have data there, even after the delete.

We use dns clusters but it seems the dns can resolve for anyone that uses it.
Does anyone know how to secure the dns remote servers so they will work only in our network?

In my local laptop I can add my dns servers to the internet connection and it will use my dns servers to resolve all my dns.

I was looking up info on using Google DNS for our website but found info on using Google Public DNS for our local computers.
Anyone know if how much faster it is? Or a good way to measure it?

The new Write only option in the cpanel dns cluster system is a great idea as it prevents users form mistakenly editing or deleting remotely hosted domains on the cluster that are not local to the server, and it does provide security to clients when running...

I'm assisting with the migration between two cPanel servers.
There are three VPS in this story.
VPS1 we are moving all our sites off.
VPS2 we are keeping.
VPS3 is where all the sites from VPS1 will be migrated to.

While I installed....
I ended up finding a work-around for this.
The reason for this is because you an instance to be installed on each node of the cluster to support fail over.
You can only use default instances in an active/passive cluster.

I manage a cluster of cPanel shared hosting servers and am considering utilising cPanel DNS only to run two (or more) dedicated DNS servers separate from the hosting servers. I'm hoping this will give me much more flexibility in moving hosting accounts...

A DNS only server can be much much smaller then a full cPanel server as all it will be running is the DNS server (bind?) a copy of Apache for the admin interface, and the cPanel background daemon of domains then you will need more resources....
