This leaves you time to upgrade folder, it depends....
It IS possible to edit and run DTS packages in SQL Server 2005 however Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005 and your old DTS packages will still run.

I need to find a DTS package that contains a specific table name. There are 200+ DTS packages each with multiple objects in them.
My_Prod is the table name. Is there a T-SQL command to find all the DTS packages that reference this table name?

I've never used it but it looks.
You could take a look at SSIS-DTS Package Search .
Modified the code from it to search all DTS packages on a server and change connection settings that were that I am aware of.

We are using SQL Server 2000 and have to move data across servers to store it in a central database. We would rather not use DTS packages because we will move to SQL Server 2005 soon, and we don't want to have to upgrade to SSIS or have to support legacy...

I currently have a number of Python scripts that help prep a staging area for testing. One thing that the scripts do not handle is executing DTS packages on MS SQL Server. Is there a way to execute these packages using Python?

I personally settled on creating a DTS package to copy my DTS packages because I had to move them to another 2000 server.

You can try DTS xChange from Pragmatic Works its the only 3rd party solution as a learning aid.
