What is the difference between DVD-R and DVD+R discs?
I usually buy DVD+R just because it's a plus. Does it make difference for archivists? The price is almost the same for both formats.

Like DVD-R you can record only once.

DVD-A only disc using over 90% of disc space - How the hell did I do it? One of the very first DVD-A discs I created using Chrome was over 74 minutes of music at 24/96.
I am currently trying to create a disc with less than 72 minutes of music at 24/88...

DVD drive properties show drive is installed and working OK. Set Auto Play to open Disc and show files. Drive worked perfectly in Window 7. But in Windows 8 drive will not open a CD Disc or DVD Disc. Disc loads and activity light comes on and you can ...

If you want to browse files, why not let your operating system do the heavy lifting? Given that a modern OS will already have everything it needs to mount filesystems from DVDs -- and that there will be numerous people already using and debugging this... .
