I've got a Gigabyte motherboard with DVI, D-SUB and HDMI onboard and I know that doesn't allow use of HDMI and DVI at the same time.

I connect my PC to my TV using a DVI to HDMI cable. The problem is that if the resolution is higher than 720p, the image on the TV screen starts to deteriorate ( you can clearly see small green dots all over low light places).

My new graphics card has HDMI out as well as DVI. My monitor has HDMI in as well as DVI. Currently I'm running my setup with DVI out of the card to HDMI in on the monitor. Would there be any benefit to going straight HDMI to HDMI? TIA

NO, as both signals of hdmi and dvi are digital, the only advantage you may see is if you have would transfer both sound and video HDMI has sound, DVI doesn't.
