Custom dash speakers
I want to put 4" perpetrates or coaxials in my dash. The problem is that it isnt made for mids. It is just a hole in the dash with tabs to mount stock tweeter. I could mount a 4" in there right now, but I want it sealed to sound ...

If you are just trying to seperate the front and back of the speaker you could use to keep water off of the speaker if the door seal leaks.

I put 6.5" 2 way Pioneer speakers in my dash and they sound great. I used the adapters for the 5.25" speakers with 1" screws to mount them. They didn't fit flush with the adapters so I just tightened the screws evenly.

I ran a connection from the speaker to the support bar in the dash, and then another from the other the speaker on the left side I had to pull out on the dash and slide (more like shove) the speaker out, so preconnecting....

My 84 has mounting holes for the speakers...so I dont think you'd need attached to....

Or if you still have the tweeters you removed will reconect the door speakers....
Or if you dont ever want tweeters back in the dash cut the wires and join em.
In to the conectors on the clip you removed in the dash linking the oposite wires.
