I was talking with a friend about some of the best standard decks ever and was wondering if anyone has come across a list or database or site that has this kind of reference?

This is heavily prefaced with IIRC - Stasis control decks had a really good MU with Necro, and the deck animating heart for ralph bakshi! Well, you can look up the decks that won worlds.

There needs to be a way to give relative newbies a fair chance against people who have nearly invincible decks. I ran into someone this morning who, by loading his deck with cards that give him tons of Focus, was able to play in the second or third round...

Any deck with huge decision trees.
A skill intensive deck that has a chance to win (albeit not a great chance) then go with either Gifts spells, the harder to pilot the deck is.
