Tax deduction on home improvements? I understand that when you sell the house you need to pay taxes on the capital gain. So if i buy house for 300K and sell it for 500K then I pay tax on 200K gain.
However I can subtract from the gain (200K) all the house...

There aren't any credits for new homebuyers if that's what you improvements unless they are....
You can take for energy efficient home improvements, but that is also on a decline and I think the most you can deduct is $1K (maybe less).

The percentage of the office space in relation to the house allows you to deduct that percentage of utilities.
Doubt it as you can only deduct the actual square footage of the home for the deduction.
