Deer Need To Eat

The 12 deer limit is based on our tremendous overpopulation of deer. Granted, this does vary from location to location in the state. On our club you can walk through the woods and not find any browse below head high due to the overpopulation. This in turn leads to small body weights and inferior antlers. So, from a biological standpoint I need to kill 6-8 does per year. I keep 2-3 for the freezer and donate the rest to Hunters for the Hungry. I would really like to include 1 monster buck in my harvest numbers. I would like to get it to the point that I can take two does and a buck every year and keep the population steady. source

I don't know about other folks, but I would take the possibility of a 300 pound deer seriously. I'd go so far as considering 165 grain bullets instead of the usual 150 for my 300 Savage. source

Cats will eat almost anything that looks like it might be food, especially if it moves. My brother and I were playing with a big toad when I was little. The cat came over and tried to eat it, even though it was too big to fit. A couple seconds later the cat dropped the toad and started running around, foaming at the mouth. The sight of my mother chasing a crazy foaming cat around the front yard had my brother and I rolling on the lawn, laughing. source
