I want to default boot an older Kernal of Ubuntu, what is the best way to do this?

Edit menu.lst in /boot/grub/
And set the 'default 0' to the number of the entry you want
You can select the default kernel by editing /boot/grub/menu.lst and changing
default 0
to the index by running sudo update-grub....

I installed windows XP, vista then 7 in that order. Right now when i boot up i get a login screen where i can select which of the 3 os to use with the default highlighting windows 7. After a bit on no input it logs into windows 7.

The final fix was to Install EasyBCD and create a new boot record the master ....
I'm not even sure what made me hit F10 at boot, but when i did, and removed /MININ, the system booted.

This lets you boot the old kernel if you need....
I think yum takes the current one, makes it a second entry, then makes the new kernel the default/first entry.
If you install a new kernel through yum it will appear in your boot list.
