Now this is great, but not applicable to civilian dentistry.
Military dentistry isn't about production, but serving your branch's needs.
A private practice / operating in a private sector environment .
I'm about to start dental school and all I see is the debt ( I want to be a general dentist at present). Is an associate position salary reasonable? I just want to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

No, dentistry at the moment is the best deal in healthcare if you love to reimburse dentists fairly.
I really dont know the answer to your question; however, I am encouraged about dentistry due at the end of the tunnel.
