In the US, for the most part, you can't live a normal life without a
car. While in most other developed countries/regions, car usually
isn't something people use everyday...

That a carfree life is the norm in the US, I'd
expect to see larger, denser cities and a far less Detroit make fuel efficient autos by
necessity in the 1950s.
