Fuel prices are skyrocketing,so why not go the diesel route for sedans,seeing as hybrids dont really work that well?

Rural or frequent highway drivers will benefity more from a diesel.
Like to applaud Subaru's decision to go diesel and not hybrid, realizing that their owners we're much hybrids make sense.
Has anyone heard whether mazda is going to offer a diesel vehicle in the US anytime soon? In particular the Mazda 3. I know they offer a diesel version in Europe. Didn't know if anyone has heard any rumours on whether one is coming to the US?

Hybrids are at 1.48% and LPGi've found that on here, when the subject of diesel in passenger cars comes up, there are many who would argue that diesel....
But at 8%, diesel is still a minor player compared to petrol at 90.24%.
