Hello,
After some searching on Google, I ask myself:
Is it possible to build a compass (simple showing the heading/direction) with the iPhone 3G's GPS sensor?
I have the suspicion, that this is only possible, if the device is moving.
Any ideas are appreciated...

As an update to this, the iPhone 3GS does include an actual, working digital compass that there are two ways to make a compass for the current iPhone 3G.

I just finished demoing pro L.It was awesome!I just selected the bm hard rock
preset put the slider to 3db,done!

DMG Compassion is the BEST Compressor.
Slate Digital FG-X is the BEST Limiter in software form Digital FG-X is the BEST Limiter in software form in my opinion.

So I fixed my issue w/ the overhead compass/temperature, I solder the broken end, test it to verify it worked and it did, placed everything back to normal, now it does not display after 2 weeks. this is what it looks like. Im not sure if the digital display...

Sometimes people have to do it more than once.
I'd re-solder those resistors again.
The screen is fine...it's supposed to look like that, all of them do .
