There are several battery apps available (most of them are free) - search for battery in the app store .
If you turn on "show battery percentage" in the options, it should show you .

HELP!! i can#t get my ipod 30gb video to stop displaying do not disconnect. everythime i connect it to my PC the message comes up and won't disappear, along with that itunes doesn't recognise the ipod so i can't eject from itunes or download any music...

I'm not sure what to do if you have a mac, but if you have ... .
Then reconnect the ipod and attempt to eject it.
I connected it to PC then it displays DO NOT DISCONNECT even I already unplug if it will reset.
With my iPod 30G.

I have an iPod Classic (160GB) that I just leave in my 6er. I have another one that I leave in the 5er. In each car, periodically the system causes the iPod to "reboot" and disconnect from iDrive. Often times, it will have to cycle through this routine...

I only see the errors above from the ipod.
The ipod will sometimes disconnect in the middle of the night and so I don't believe wifi dropouts it runs fine and doesn't disconnect.

Today, I had to restore my iPod to it's factory settings. I connected it to my laptop and it syncs but then immediately disconnects itself. I try to click on "Enable Disk Use" but the iPod disconnects before I can do so.

Hi i just got an ipod today and when i try to plug it in to the pc it will disconnect itself after like 5 seconds. I tried on my neices laptop what still has vista and it works fine. Anyone know a fix for this?

USB resource limited - Disconnect all other USB devices.
Probable causes
iPod Hardisk issue - Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as posted by tt2 , it wont fix all other software while syncing.
