You do not need to deprogram the old remote before programming the new one, and below is a link as to how you can program.
If you have a compatible remote, you can program it as the replacement.

If you have the correct remote and the antenna is upright ....
Make sure this antenna is upright and that its connection is hand tight .
On the bottom of the remote there should remote.
There are a couple things you will want to check .
