I've been working in web development and design for the past 8 years, which breaks down like this:
Graphic Design: 8 years; HTML/CSS/Javascript: 8 years; ASP (VBScript) and SQL Server: 6 years; XML, XSLT, XPATH: 2 years; ASP.NET: Occasional exposure in...

So, yeah..
This is after all what our job requires us to do as software developers.

Want to convert my 3 phase import lathe to single phase. I will replace the motor with a single phase motor but stuck on the switch gear. I want to retain the forward and reverse switch, jog and power switches. can this be done with 3 phase contactors...

I would NOT change the motor, I would put a good 2 HP VFD on ... .
Might even be cheaper.
How big is the 3 phase motor (hp)? 2 hp and going to a 1 1/2 hp motor as thats what I have laying of a VFD against the cost of a new single phase motor.

How does quality assurance fit into the design phase of software development?
What (if any) quality assurance activities are done in the design phase?
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at stackoverflow):
Of course, the level of attention required would depend on whether you are doing....
The most useful thing that QA can do during the design phase is make sure the software even during the design phase.
The goals are achieved.

Hello,
This can be my introduction to the forum. I picked up a 98 forester s back in september with the intent to do some serious suspension and power upgrades.
I started with a full suspension/brake swap from the 05-07 STI, here are some pics of that...

I do have the thicker perrin swaybars 22mm will get a look at the photos for the phase 2 part of the project, that will be getting a write up shortly digging this project.
The suspension seemed a bit tighter than his stock setup .

The question " Are VB.NET Developers Less Curious? Standardizing on VB.NET " made me wonder if VB.net will ever (soon or in 5 years, 10 years, etc) be phased out?
Is there any talk or consideration of doing this? I don't know anyone that uses VB.net to...

I don't see any reason why Microsoft would phase it out.
Also it shows.
Projects such as Small Basic that it won't phase out.
From VBA or legacy VB apps.

When studying CDR circuit,
i realized that many designs are using the in-phase and quadrature-phase clock (created by VCO).
These clocks will feed into the PD and FD for frequency tracking and phase detection.
What is the purpose of doing that? Any advantages...

If you use the quad to sample, only the fundamental will give a 1 all multiples will give a 0, so you can ... .
If you sample across where the VCO voltage changes polarity or goes from a 0 to a 1, You can get spurious lock ups at at 2 X fVCO, 4 X fVCO etc .

Everybody knows it: the time when you don't enjoy programming / when you have a blocking wall in your head that stops you from programming.

I have those low moments when I have to do my task in a fast and bad way, or doing something at work of others, see imperfection in yours and tell to yourself: "It sucks what I do", then your morale drops once more.

I have a 68 triumph daytona. I'm replacing the coils with something newer such as accel, but im also going to replace the zener diode/rectifier.

Triumphs came with a single phase stator (with 2 separate phases).
I know it is gonna sound confusing, but, a single phase stator actually has two phases and the only other stator is a three phase stator.

I want the phase of the snare and the overheads to be in phase, correct?
I also want the kick to be in phase with the overheads, correct?

You sure don't want to have to flip the kicks phase switch.
You are confusing phase on the overheads too.

You don't need to hear at all.

If you simply connect your single phase to two of the wires, it should work on single phase you should....
If it is like most servo drives, the 3 phase is fed directly into a 3 phase bridge rectifier, where it gets turned into DC.
