I have an ATM card but which will I use more in cancun; pesos or us dollars?

A 1000 peso meal, necklace or hotel room will cost....
Not a big deal on a few dollars, but it does add up.
If you withdraw from a US dollar machine then you will be hit with a bunch in dollars.
Sure you withdraw PESOS.

Anyone help?? i have mixed advice whether to take dollars or pesos...i am unsure which is best ...any advice welcome thanks

If you have dollars bring them will see this question....
It is best to use pesos, but, the merchants in town accept dollars and get pesos when you arrive, even with a 3% or similar fee.
Your in Mexico, use Pesos.

Pull your Pesos from a Mexican Bank ATM..
With the Peso trading at over 13.50 to 1 right now, I would not see any reason to use US.

SO, i'm off to Mexico (playa del carmen) on monday. Should i change my British pounds into US Dollars or Mexican Pesos??? HELP!! xx

I always use dollars since I'm lazy and they readily just returned and we used pesos no point in taking dollars from UK, also you can pay your departure tax in pesos or pounds....
Since you're exchanging - go with pesos.

So, sounds like the better deal is exchanging dollars to pesos but are we able to change it back at the end of the holiday if we still have pesos left or will we lose our shirts?

We took pesos and when we ran out on the last day, (were there for two pesos for about $....
The pesos for tips over the last few days to avoid having to many to bring home.

I remember last year reading it was best to bring pesos vs dollars for tips, cabs and all the way around. Is that still the preferred thing to do? If we do bring some dollars, is it ok??

Coming from the UK we get a better rate by just taking Pesos I always use dollars not can't pay the Departure....
I take pesos, it saves having to convert £-dollar-peso, thats to convert.
Lots of cash with you at all times.
