Where is the best place to exchange dollars for pesos. I know the airports are terrible.

They prefer one US dollar to 10 pesos, but I agree, as it's not their business....
We will be tipping with American dollars (bringing 100 one dollar bills or so) but we bar waiter and he said it made no difference.
Feel is best.

Looking at restaurant menus, it looks like some place charge in Pesos and some in American dollars. Do we need to bring both?

Restaurants offer a 'service' of taking USD from Americans who don't want to bother with getting pesos....
You can also just bring pesos with you.
The easiest option is to bring your debit card and to withdraw pesos from a bank ATM.

My wife and I will be traveling to the Valentin Imperial Maya in March. Should we worry about exchanging our dollars to pesos for tips or will US dollars be fine?

They will appreciate which ever you give them.
If you normally tip $5 American what would you tip in pesos? I ask because in MexicoDollars will be fine.

They stopped doing it shortly and 10 peso coins the day before and they would get them for me at the bank the next morning.
The GCP used to exchange US to pesos for about the same rate as the cambios.

Two years ago we used mostly US dollars. Travel agent suggested Pesos. Staying at the Barcelo again and will probably go into town a couple of times what currency do you suggest
