Alternatively, the Dynamic DNS need to instruct it to feel responsible for that name .
That the DynDNS servers are the DNS for this domain will accomplish this.

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at serverfault):
Your port forwarding will work.
You don't need Custom DNS to do this unless you require your own domain.
DynDNS will provide a name to IP resolution (something.homeip.net to 123.123.123.123).

I have set up an Ubuntu box with EXIM4 for handling my email, for now I only care about outgoing email. My router manages my DynDNS.com psuedo static-IP addressing. Port forwarding for port 25 is open and shows up with a port-scan. The firestarter firewall...

Hi
I am trying to have the RV220W router auto-update the dyndns registration.
The dynamic domain that I use is .info -- note the .info domain.
When I manually update the dyndns information (username and password) the registration does go through and the...

The more information you have to offer, the better chance they have to reproduce the issue so it can get resolved .
At any rate, I'd call Tech Support and open a ticket .
You might perform a search.
I believe this is a known issue.

I've never tried....
- I use a FQDN via DynDNS
- the server has a fixed IP behind a router
- DNS runs on the server changes 1-2 times a year.
I don't remember the details, but the dyndns.
Speed from Qwest was so slow, it just wasn't worth it .
