Hi folks, What are generally upload speeds for enterprise networks and datacenters that host e-commerce sites? Thanks.

Different.
So to really answer you question, it's whatever speed you need and are willing to pay for.
Around the internet and I have seen both my download and upload speeds peak out at over 94 Mb/sec.
Any ideas what the average user's download speed is? I'm working on a site that streams video and am trying to figure out what an average download speed as to determine quality. I know i might be comparing apples with oranges but I'm just looking for ...

The peak bandwidth I've an average speed would....
That was with parallel streams, however.
They have data by state, so if you have money then you can (the "quoted" peak downlink speed).
US resident has a 1.9Mbps download speed.

If not, you could use an old PC and pfSense or m0n0wall You can use the router's QoS feature to give your machine priority over the others .
Look in the admin settings.
If your router has some QoS features, then yes.

downloading at 1.5 mbps, with roadrunner turbo....with nothing else running.
I'm using a 3G USB stick to connect to the internet, depending on my location the signal strength varies. So my question is, does signal strength affect throughput and why?

The only way to really tell is to use a speed checker.
And two, it can make a big difference.

54mbps is more than enough.
They are the slowest speed IP includes BT.
But if you are in Sky Broadband I doubt it .
Let see how much is your internet speed.
It depends, try broadband speed checker online first.
