We are new to Huatulco, having been to the Caribbean for the last few years. Not hearing good things about Secrets but not sure about Dreams as it has been described as older. Not sure which one would suit us as a couple. Also love having a hammock either...

We also had the same problem with choosing since this will also be our first time in Huatulco! It was a toss up but ended up going with Dreams ! Mostly cause Secrets is so new, I wasnt sure if by now at Dreams from all the pictures....

With everything going on with the drug cartels, is it safe to travel to Huatulco on vacation? Many of the reports talk about the issues with the border cities, but I have als o eard about problems in Oaxaca , which is not very close to the border and ...

I have booked a February 2012 trip to Secrets Huatulco thru Travelocity. Unlike Apple or other travel companies, this booking does not provide transportation from the airport to the hotel. Does anyone know if Secrets provides a courtesy bus at the airport...

If you take the short walk past the gate, Huatulco, MX Casa Hoffa (North), ....
Last month to Dreams it was 370 Pesos for an airport authorized taxi.
You are likely on your own for transportation, but it's never a problem in Huatulco.

I did not like the layout of Secrets and most .
Both go back to Dreams if the price was the same for both.
I stayed at Dreams last year.
Go and have a great vacation.
Everything else is up and running.

A taxi from inside the airport to Dreams cost us 370 Pesos in December.
It's about a 30 minute ride to Secrets.
The taxis in Huatulco are not that expensive.

I was recently at Secrets. They have some beatiful pools but a limited # of pool floats. Maybe about 8 max. Unfortunately not many people were able to use them. Aside from people standing beside them in the pool for hours on end, resting an arm on them...

It was Thursday....
Outside vendor came in to sell their wares.
During the week of Jan15-22 they had a Fiesta night buffet set up in the theater .
We were there for the 2 weeks in the beginning of January and there were no dinner theme nights in those 14 nights .

First time to Manzanillo, been to Huatulco five times. No problem with the drinking water at Huatulco, what about at the Karmina Palace, that is where we are booked. Also wanted to know if there is good snorkelling at the Karmina or close by?

Just got back from a trip to Huatulco in January and we wanted to try some place else.
LOL Hunter - I have also been to Huatulco on March 6th for one week.
Just don't drink the water while you're snorkling...
