They look like little pistols with these long screw gun bits and they make awful noises. are they just lith-ion's?

I bought a Makita 12v lithium combo kit not too long agoYour description is very vague but I am guess that you are talking about an impact driver.
To nothing unlike using a regular drill/driver.

Somewhere I have a quick connect that is a pilot drill on one side then driver bit on the other.
The bits are worth that much.
