Re15 is omni right? try that out No re15 is unidirectional but usable for drum microphones are dynamic....
Try it out.
Good dynamic overheads are:
Beyerdynamic M201
Sennheiser M441
Heilsound PR30
Ribbon not for the cymbals.

Do you hear the stereo field in headphones? Have a mono button pushed so ewhere? XY patterns definitely never sound as wide as a spaced pair but you should be able to still hear a stereo field. .

Mismatched overheads? I was helping a friend who runs a studio, and he used an NT5 Omni and a C2000B on the overheads...spaced pair about 30" above the cymbals. It sounded awesome. We also had a pair of fatheads in the corner of the room for room mics...

I used to use them....
I haven't used the e60 on drum overhead, but judging by what I have used them for, they should then.
The ATm450 is quite good as an overhead $100.
On the floor, but then they aren't really "overheads"....
