Gentlemen,
I just drywalled a ceiling, and for the first time used a drywall lift. Always did it with two guys and a couple of t-bars. I will never do a ceiling again without a lift. That was too easy - almost fun! I bow before the man who invented them...

Hanging by hand is just way to hard? I assumed two men would be quicker than using a lift.
Worth the extra time?

Guys, I do just about everything when it comes to building and carpentry. Every once and awhile I end up hanging drywall or blueboard. I want to buy a lift because it is about $40 a day for a rental. It would pay itself off quickly. I know the Telpro ...

If Im by myself any lift is a lifesaver even the ones the lifting wire and stops....
With the loader attached you only have to lift the drywall a few inches offCouldn't be as cheesy as
your screen name.

I use a lift called the Hercule 42-60. Ive been using it for 5 years. It retails for about $175 and is designed for the top sheets against the ceiling and is sold steel. There is a video on youtube and i got it through the website hercule42-60.com

one idea which I'm not really liking is to lift the drywall on the inside and using quarters of an inch off each, now my problem is that 8feet of drywall will leave a 2 inch gap the insulation doesn't matter too....

If you are installing 4' x 8' sheets of drywall on a large ceiling area, is it a good idea to stagger the joints like you would when installing roof sheathing, or does it really matter with drywall ?

The sound isolation store claims superior performance from the isolation strip that is to be placed at the intersection of the wallboard and floor instead of just leaving the 1/4" gap and sealing with GG sealant. Anyone have any experience with it?
