First let me reiterate on my comment "It doesn't seem logical, to me anyway, that a Windows program would affect the BIOS process." , well...

Do NOT buy this motherboard. It's design (probably the VRM circuitery) is flawed in such a way that it will inevitably die if you stress it for a longer period of time (for example with crunching). NO amount of cooling, caution, etc...
