For two slices of New much up front I tend to drop low soon after eating .
If I don't extend the dual wave long enough, I end up high later on.

Rhanea, what is the difference between a duel and a square bolus? I have an Animas pump. It has a combo bolus. Is that is same as a duel or square? The combo bolus allows me to breakdown the delivery of my bolus over a period of time. I'm not familiar...

LOL, tacos are EVIL in my house.
We definitely dual wave when Jacob has tacos (the fat in the meat and cheese tend to spike him don't have to dual wave tacos at all.

Right fiber isnt digested so you dont get carbs from it, it just effects the absorbtion and digestion of other foods it's really good to pack on the fiber with higher carb foods to slow them down so we dont spike, and also to give a more full feeling....

I usually stick with a dual wave bolus that way I dont get an initial spike I usually take about half the insulin right away and do a square wave bolus for the other half over honey, or brown....
Appetizer or something.

And half dual wave bolus when I eat giving half the insulin immediately and the other half over an hour the square and dual wave bolus settings are for on your pump.

I seem to be having big issues with takeaways on the pump. No matter how I bolus my BG is spot on 4-5 hours later so I go to bed and wake up with BG around 17

The beauty of the pump is that you can adjust and saudce. .
Such as at a meal or when correcting a high value (the bolus).
