I use an air blower to dust the inside of my PC every few months. I keep the PC fans from turning when doing this to avoid turning them into dynamos and possibly causing damage to the electronics. I've been using this technique for years without problem...

Used in combination with the air compressor....
A vacuum with a soft bristle tool is helpful for getting hardened dust off of fan leading edges.
Make sure to keep a reasonable distance back when.
Sure, just don't create a wind tunnel in your PC.

Could anyone please explain why the dust cap doesn't affect the sound of a woofer (at least according to all I see others saying)?
It seems to me that the dust cap is part of the speaker's piston and is pumping air in and out like the rest of the speaker...

Dave They (dust caps) can and do affect dust caps effect home speakers.
Please see this article for an excellent explanation of just how it does this .
The dust cap most certainly does effect a woofer's sound characteristics.

All right already somebody shut the blower off. I surely don't remember winds blowing like this nearly every day until a few years ago. Now it seems every year the winds get worse.
Has anyone else noticed this?

Magnet catch, Minimize Your Dust!!
I'm not sure if I seen this here or somewhere else but I thought I'd try it out..
I had an old speaker I was tossing out so I tore the magnet off and mounted it under my grinder to help keep dust at bay..
