I have just gone through my 3rd ECU. I have re doe the earths after number one went is there any other common problems with the mk2 golf gti 8v or is it just the earths ? Could be a dodgy ECU to begin with but i think not likely ? Any info would be welcome...

You redo them with? Engine/gearbox strap is crucial so that you don't blow ECU on starting the ECU went the temp gauge was often telling me that the car was cold ( just above the thick white I will change that.

I used an AUTO ecu Ecu's are setup for 450cc injectors and 37psi base pressure, Auto Ecu's are setup for 390cc ill give it a go.
The TCU is what controls the transmissions shift points.
I would assume so.

On an 87 the START signal.
My other relay wasn't bad, what can cause the ecu to not get power from the main relay? Are there any be a problem in the ignition switch or at something between the switch and DME.

Applying volts direct to the pump, it seems that the ECU switches the pump motor earth feed, so in that case I can short out at the ECU, then a relay will take ....
I changed the ECU with no benefit (unless the second one was duff).
