XL-5 ESC question I'm having a problem getting my XL-5 esc set to Lipo battery mode. I follow the instructions and it doesn't change, it just turns off. Any suggestion? Thanks ya'll.

I turn it on again following the manual...lol.
I let go and the esc turns off.
The light in green it's suppose to, to tell me it has changed to lipo mode .
Well I plug in my battery a 2s lipo, turn on radio, then turn on esc.
Be wrong.

I have had bad luck with ESCs (Hobbyking SS Series mainly). I have researched and not found much on rctimer escs. Are the 20A any good? Because they are in my price range.

See if your rx got wet the xl-5 is a pretty harty esc so check ur reciver Slash 2wd Vxl; Crash and learn Haven't run , I also thought it was my esc (xl-5) ....
It sounds more like a reciever or transmitter problem than an esc problem.

It is not tremendously huge but it has a high current rating) for it .
Why not grab a hobbywing or hobbyking Brushless ESC? You can get their 80A one that can handle 4S brushed motor I've got a Tekin 420G2 ESC.

From what i have been reading its pretty important when trying to find motor/esc.
You don't need to consider the esc rated specs to buy bigger batts except for the rated voltage is on the list.

Don Sorry -my mistake.
I would suggest a simple Ice 50 ESC - it has a nice big heatsink not sure I have to do more research I guess.
Perhaps a little less if you could.
