Well no more than any other ESC....
There are loads of us on here who fly the Align ESC with no hint or sign of a problem...
I wouldnt bother swapping out the supplied Align ESC that comes with the 550.
Or something in the first place.

Even if the battery reaches lvc, and the ESC shuts down or slows down the motor, there's still plenty of volts left to power the receiver through the BEC that's in the ESC.

Problem: Control a brushless ESC through Mach3
Idea: Program an Arduino microprocessor to convert mach3's PWM spindle output to a brushless ESC's 1-2ms input signal. A brushless ESC needs a 1-2ms on time every 20ms.

It doesn't cost anything when you have the ESC and BEC already..sorry I just don't trust the Chinese.
Costs about $5.
Much cheaper and easy to do.
Just use the current ESC and install another BEC.
