Hiya, Im newly pregnant with #2 but wondering how early twins would show on an ultrasound? I am around 5 weeks but having a dating scan to find out (didnt get my period after ceasing contraception). huge family history of twins and also been so sick already...

So maybe 7 or so weeks? saw ours that it also depends on the type of twins as to how early they can be seen! We found out at our 6 week scan.
I'm no expert but I'd say as early as you can see a heartbeat.
Im reading all these posts about women having ultrasounds at 5 and 6 weeks. Im not scheduled for one until 8 weeks. My midwife said there is really nothing to see prior to that and that not seeing anything generally causes more stress to a woman than ...

Yeah 4 is pretty early, I guess they'd see a thickened lining and maybe a sac and remember don't panic if they can't see much yet as it's really early.

I'm sure it's easier to make that mistake when they say it's a girl and it's actually a boy but I would wait 18 weeks .
My doctors predicted a girl at 12 weeks and at 18 weeks it was confirmed that it was not a girl and was a boy .

I had lots of draws early in this pregnancy and progesterone 25 which is really low but good as I could be really early SO had bloods repeated but good as I could be really early....

On 01/10 I had two ultrasounds done one by my.
My OB but had disappeared the next week on the 01/10 ultrasound.
I also have an ultrasound scheduled the same day with a specialist at a private clinic.
I've had cramping here and there through out the day. So, I went in to see my doctor yesterday and she ordered an ultrasound for me today. Any of you ladies has had an ultrasound at this early? and what should I be expecting? Thanks!

I've read, they will do an early ultrasound just to double check how far along you really could google 6wk ultrasound for pics) =) I go in for mine next week, that's all the info I've found but not spotting .
My OB Scheduled me for an ultrasound for Monday the 20th of this month, and I will be 14 weeks and 1 day. She says they can tell me the gender also? Has anyone had luck getting an ultrasound that early for gender determination?

It won't be very accurate at this point wait until 22 weeks, I would think that... .
Last time I learned, I definitely wouldn't start buying clothes based on the ultrasound.
Would I rely on it? No.
Is it possible? Yes.
Weeks seems really early.
Where are we heading with MSK ultrasound? Are more physiatrists using it? What about reimbursement? Does msk ultrasound exposure during residency help getting into a good msk fellowship? anybody know which programs have good msk ultrasound training?

Mayo ultrasound will decline once reimbursement gets hit and will likely live on only in some it and see how much you want to devote to it.
