Venison cuts
Hi there, any good recommendations for a simple but tasty venison braai.
I am having overseas guests here next year, and want to impress with a nice braai.
Something simple that will go down well.
Do you braai venison for the same length...

I have been thinking about trying to make this for a while now. I basically used a recipe from Alton Brown of Good Eats TV show, but used straight venison.

Venison sausage and elk meat question? My friend says it is too dark and looks like it has gone bad.
Anyone know how we can tell if it's okay to eat?

Was it properly stored? Did you just defrost it? venison and elk are a darker meat so only way to tell is to open it and smell it if it smells good eat it if it smells bad toss it.
Color is irrelevant.

Thanks....
Our dogs regularly eat venison but yesVenison and the sausage should be fine, but if they've never had it before, I wouldn't give them give diarhea if they aren't used to it.
Give smaller amounts at frist and see how they do with it .

Okay, I love venison. I still make ground venison on this WOL, as the flavor is still great and unlike beef, there is never any fat to drain out! But when I make a roast or steak I have a problem. Venison has a "gamey" flavor, and the only way I know ...
