Does anyone know for sure whether ports in Egypt and Israel will or will not be on this year's itinerary? I know that there was some discussion of this in the past suggesting alternative ports. Where can one find out for sure?

They are usually between Luxor and Aswan.
Most of the river cruises do not go to Cairo.

Spent days in Egypt the end of October - beginning of November 2011.
We were in Egypt on the Ocean Princess in May.
Go for it.

Wasn't there a bomb attack aimed at tourists in Sharm not so long ago? Yes .
Luxor, Nile Cruises and Valley tourist spots in egypt.
And the Red Sea resorts are usually untouched by civil unrest .

We now visit Egypt more or less with Kuoni than we could have done with any other travel operator on a like for like holiday.
The boats sometimes moor up at Esna and you get bussed everywhere .
