Found this petition http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/7056 It is to remove the green tax from gas and electric bills. It should knock off at least 25% of what most people pay I think.

How much is your Electric bill gone up buy using you pellet stove 24/7 for a month. Tomorrow I will bring an electical cord from work and separate the legs and use a clamp on amp meter and see how many amps this thing draws. .

What size heat pump do you have.
bill is calculated from an actual meter reading and not just an estimate, the electric company may2/3 of the bill is from the old heat pump.
We had an estimated bill in December that was really low. We're paying for it with our actual meter reading this month. $891!!!! I about had a heart attack when I saw that number. It is probably accurate because our winter bills usually run around $35...

Oh...I would crap myself and then cry! I cried when I got a $400 bill once! OH MY GOODNESS!! I would completely freak out! (I do budget billing, so hopefully never have to see a bill that huge!) Were dealing with a $622 gas bill....
