I thought it was not permissible to to mount a luminaire over a junction box unless there was a 2" hole to access the wires in the junction box. Was I just dreaming? I have a bunch of them that are nippled through the J-box cover and into the luminaire...

We're running a new electrical wire & wondering if it would be ok to place it where indicated in the pic... or should we cut out more wall to the left & get it away from the water lines?

The third photo is of the electrical box where the two hot wires come.
You should be able are the wires leading to my problem .
In the pipe shown on the top left of the old J-Box, I see 3 hots and a neutral.

Make sure the box is rated to have a fan .
Blue fan light fixture wire to the red j-box wire.
Black fan motor wire to black j-box wire.
Matter in this case, as both the black and red are being switched .

The receptacle closest to the j-box was part of the conduit installation to the other new receptacle closest to the j-box.

For you in the trade, that perhaps wire hot air furnaces or oil boilers.
What wiring menthod is your prefer choice, when making the final conduit
connection, the the furnace electrical connection j-box.
conduit 3/8 flex 1/2" flex, etc. or MC/AC metal,...

When installing 2x2's, 2x4's etc. in a suspended celing and you install all your 4" boxes whether it's one for every two fixtures or one for every four fixtures or however...

Looking to install a j-box where I can connect 50 year old cloth-covered romex wiring with new 12-2 wiring. Can I do this somehow if the old stuff only has a black and a white wire? What would I connect the ground wire in the new wiring to? Hope this ...
