I have decided to up grade my GPS that is used mostly for hunting and some Geocatching. I think I have decided on the Etrex 20 but I am on the fence about going to the 30 to get Electronic Compass. It is about a $100.00 up grade...

Do what I do, carry a normal compass for the odd occasion when I don't want here about "sticky" electronic....
Then again, where I live most of the trees are lucky if they get 8 feet tall .

My compass, gps , autopilot and chartplotter are not is aggrement. I have ignored this in the past because it is a relative small difference but in trying to improve my skills I would like to have everything in better agreement.

I think it would be pretty obvious to most, that if SHTF, your GPS and cell phone navigational devices will be useless. And depending on the situation, more of a danger and hinderance than a benefit.
