I've always loved Etta James' music, right from the day I heard this song. Listening to her got me into Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday etc. (Not loaded: _1uunRdQ61M )

A singer who could take a trite pop song and sing it from the heart .
As good as either, I thought.
Wonderful whether doing the Billie Holliday type numbers or Aretha type stuff .
